How to switch camera input devices

Terry Apr 05, 2017 11:19AM CDT

I have three web cams on my machine but your software appears to have detected the cam in my laptop lid and I can't find a mechanism in ChromaCam to select a different input to apply the green screen effect to.

How can I switch devices?

In addition to the laptop lid cam I have a Logitech c920 and a microsoft Lifecam.

Hi there Terry, thanks for the note, and happy to help. With our newest release, we’ve added a camera dropdown selector, to make it easier to toggle between different cameras on your system for use with ChromaCam.

Start your Skype/Hangouts/BlueJeans (or whatever video chat app you are using), and in the video settings box select ChromaCam as the camera. That will pop up the ChromaCam app UI and ChromaCam will begin doing dynamic background removal with whatever your default camera is in Windows. And then switching from your c920 to your Lifecam is super easy to do. In ChromaCam there are five tabs to the left of the app (background, slides, logo, settings, about). Select Settings, and next to Camera there is a dropdown box. Select the camera you want, and voila!

Regards,
Nick
